It would be no wonder how so many tourists arrived to witness the beauty of Gods own country. Figures published by the department of tourism, Govt of Kerala indicate that more than a crore guests visited Kerala in 2011. The number of foreign tourist arriving last year was 7,32,985 while 93,81 455 domestic travellers visited the state during the period, Tourism Minister AP Anil Kumar told the press. Kerala is blessed with its pituresque beaches, hill stations, backwaters and many more. The government netted a foreign exchange income of Rs. 3,797.37 crore for the period. These new figures come up as a record as these are the highest figures for Kerala tourism ever since it started exploring the tourism potential of the state.
